Which one you actually need
Most people overbuy. Start lower than you think and upgrade when a warning email arrives — nothing breaks in the meantime.
Evaluating, or a side project
Free. 10,000 requests is a few thousand page loads of a hobby app. If you are unsure whether the data suits you, this answers it at no cost.
A product with real users
Startup. 10M requests, full history, and 25 monitors covers most applications that are not themselves a data business.
Procurement is involved
Enterprise. If you need an invoice, a purchase order, a signed agreement, or an uptime commitment, the card-based plans will not clear your process.

What happens at the ceiling
The most common way an API bill goes wrong is an overage nobody agreed to. This is how that is avoided.
We stop, we do not bill
At your monthly ceiling the API returns 429. There is no overage charge and no automatic upgrade.
Three warnings first
Email at 80%, 90%, and 100% of quota, so hitting the limit is never the first you hear of it.
Upgrades take effect immediately
Not at the next billing cycle. If you are blocked, you are unblocked the moment you change plan.
Bulk export stays separate
It is the only feature with real per-gigabyte cost, so it is metered rather than bundled into a plan that would then have to price for the heaviest user.

- What happens when I hit my monthly limit?
- The API returns 429 and stops. You are never billed for an overage you did not agree to. Warning emails go out at 80%, 90%, and 100% of quota, and upgrading takes effect immediately.
- What counts as a request?
- One HTTP call to one endpoint. Pagination counts per page. A 4xx caused by a malformed request counts; a 5xx caused by us does not.
- Do I get fewer datasets on a cheaper plan?
- No. Every plan includes every live dataset. You pay for volume, history depth, and monitoring — not for access. Adding a dataset does not change your bill.
- Is there an annual discount?
- Yes — 20% off any paid plan billed annually.
- Why is bulk export metered separately?
- It is the only thing we serve with a real per-gigabyte cost. Bundling it would mean pricing every plan for the heaviest exporter, or losing money on them. Metering it keeps the base plans honest.
- How do enterprises pay?
- Invoice with net-30 terms, purchase orders, and a signed agreement. Enterprise plans do not run on a card.
- Do I need an API key?
- Yes, for every request — there is no unauthenticated endpoint. Keys are issued on signup, on the free trial as well as paid plans.
- Do I need a credit card for the free tier?
- No. The free trial issues a key without one. You can also view the data in the Explorer before signing up at all.
- Can I change plans later?
- Yes, in either direction, and upgrades take effect immediately rather than at the next cycle.
